Introducing, BETTY

BETTY is Goodwill Central Texas's mobile mission unit. She allows GCT to bring its services and support to outlying counties and underserved areas.

My team was tasked with designing a branded wrap that both identified the vehicle, while also providing some context for its purpose. BETTY is able to do a lot of things. She is fully equipped with monitors and wifi hotspots to bring internet services to rural areas. The team that goes out with her distributes connected devices, assists with job applications, and provides digital literacy support to potential clients.

Our challenge as designers was to create a design that could communicate that while feeling fresh and visually appealing.

The first set of concepts were presented to the BETTY team to help guide their feedback. We needed to understand how much of the vehicle they wanted to wrap and what imagery and word choice they wanted to use to describe the services offered. The van was officially named BETTY, Bringing Education and Technology to You, after the first round of concepts.
